Serve Our Neighbor Day

Serve Our Neighbor Day - A Tradition in the Making!

Serve Our Neighbor Day is an opportunity for parishioners to get to know each other, build relationships with the community, and help those in need. Inspired by the bi-annual event held at Holy Family - St. Lawrence Parish in Essex Junction, the Social Justice Committee at Christ the King - St. Anthony feels compelled to start a similar tradition here in Burlington.

We start with a short gathering in the morning, including prayer and some much-needed caffeine to get us going. Then we break into teams and enter the field, working on service projects for about 2.5 hours. Projects can include raking, mowing, and other yard work, simple painting or carpentry projects, or even just visiting with someone who hasn't seen a friendly face in a while. Once projects wrap up around lunch time, we reconvene as one big group to congratulate each other on a job well done and have a meal together.

Handy with a rake or a paintbrush? Know someone close by who could use help with small projects around the house? Want to get to know your community better? Then join us for our second annual Serve Our Neighbor Day event! Families are welcome, lots of volunteer positions are available, and many hands make light work.
