Music Ministry

Do you play an instrument or like to sing? Join one of our talented music groups to lead music during Mass. Rehearsals vary for each group.  If you are interested, please contact the parish office.

Youth Ministry

A team of volunteers serving middle and high school students through youth nights and other events.  For more information please visit the youth ministry page or visit us on facebook!

Youth Core Team

Team of teens in grades 9-12 who take a role as leaders among their peer group to help plan Youth Ministry events and lead these teens to a deeper understanding of the faith. 

Youth Bible Study

A group of high-school-aged teens come together once per month to discuss scripture in context and how it can apply to where they are in their life.

Offertory Counters

A group that counts the funds collected at Masses each week. Each group volunteers about once a month.

Senior Altar Servers

Men and women who assist at Mass or Funeral masses to enhance the worship of our faith community.

Ushers

Volunteers who take up collection at Mass and welcome those who come to Mass.

Sacristan

Duties include setting up the liturgical vessels and materials for Mass and cleaning up the sanctuary following Mass.

Parish Council

A group of parishioners that advise the pastor of parish life and are updated on various ministries and events that take place at the parish.  They help to set and maintain the vision of the parish.

Finance Council

Advises the Pastor on financial matters of the parish and school. Responsible for monitoring all income and expenses and approving the annual budgets.

Lazarus Ministry

Group of volunteers who organize hospitable works for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one and plan the Masses of Remeberence each year.

Young Adult Ministry

This ministry serves all young adults ages 21 to 35.  It includes a weekly bible study on Tuesday nights to discuss the Sunday Gospel.  It also includes additional events and/or retreats.

Theology on Tap

This is a monthly event hosted by the Young Adult Ministry that takes place at Church Street Tavern in downtown Burlington.  Activities include a guest speaker, Q & A, and some time to simply enjoy a drink and socialize.

Altar Servers

Boys and girls in 3rd grade and up who assist the priest at the liturgy. For more information, please contact the parish office.

Children's Liturgy

Meets once per month during the 11AM Mass.  School-aged children are invited to leave the church proper and go with Safe and Sacred-trained adults in order to receive age-appropriate faith formation. 

Vacation Bible Camp

A week-long, interactive, fun, and faith-filled camp for children grades 1-8.  This camp will inspire them to learn and to love their Catholic faith. 

Religious Education

Our religious education program includes small-group classes for each grade level (1-10), taught by a Safe and Sacred-certified volunteer teaching staff.  Our teachers and teacher's aides strive to give these children an authentic experience in living their faith as well as instruct them on the core concepts of Catholicism.  For sacramental years (2, 9-10), this includes preparing our children to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

EMHC's serve the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass and to the sick and homebound.  If interested in joining this ministry, please contact the parish office.

Lectors

Readers who proclaim the Scriptures at Mass and other services.

Liturgy Committee

This group meets several times a year to plan the various Liturgical seasons, Masses, and services that we have.  A creative mind and a love for the Mass are all that is required.

School Board

Meets monthly to discuss the various programs and aspects of our parish school.  This group is overseen by the principal and pastor to assess and improve the mission of Christ the King School.

Social Justice Committee

Coordinates various efforts including Serve Our Neighbor Day, the Advent giving tree, and other charitable works to those in need. This group also coordinates efforts with St. Joseph's House in Burlington. 

Senior Lunch

This is an amazing opportunity for seniors to come together and experience a great feeling of community with fellow parishioners. This takes place the third Friday of each month. 

Prayer  Shawls

These hand-knitted shawls provide comfort to those who are sick and dying and are a reminder that the faith community is with them during this time.  The pattern to make one can be picked up at the office.

RCIA

Individuals who help teach those who are entering the Catholic church or adults who are receiving sacraments.  Adults attend the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation) program as adult candidates for Catholic sacraments or to simply learn more about their Catholic faith.  All are welcome, whether you would like to learn more about the faith and become Catholic, or you are already Catholic but would like to know more about what/why you believe.
