Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit. (John 3:5)
CONGRATULATIONS! Whether you've recently been blessed with a new baby or have older children interested in being part of the faith, we are looking forward to celebrating this day with you. Please call the parish office to schedule an appointment.
If you are an adult and are considering baptism, we are so proud of you! Currently, St. John Vianney Parish in South Burlington is hosting RCIA classes; please call them at 802-864-4166. Baptisms for adults usually take place at the Easter Vigil but can be scheduled earlier in the year if desired. (If you were baptized by another main denomination of the Christian religion, it is not a practice in the Catholic faith to "re-baptize" individuals.)
Godparents need to be practing Catholics.
Father, look now with love upon your Church, and unseal for her the fountain of baptism. By the power of the Holy Spirit give to this water the grace of your Son, so that in the sacrament of baptism all those whom you have created in your likeness may be cleansed from sin and rise to a new birth of innocence by water and the Holy Spirit.
